The Tickmill broker managed to get regulated by the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) regulator. This license is granted to the entity that oversees their UK activities, Tickmill UK Limited .

Until now, Tickmill has grown to reach a trading volume range of 50 billion USD per month. This broker was previously Seychelles regulated and focused on EA traders. With authorization from FCA, Tickmill is preparing to expand its business to the UK and Europe. On 9 November, Tickmill officially launched its service in the UK and Europe.

As of September 2016, Tickmill's clients have executed over 3 million trades of which 63% were trades using algorithms and EAs. At the same time, 37% of the total is manual trading.

The company has tapped British industry veteran Duncan Anderson as CEO of Tickmill UK. Anderson was previously the CEO of Hirose Financial UK. He was also a senior manager at ODL Securities before Gain Capital Holdings Inc acquired the company. In addition, Duncan Anderson owns a company called AQL Capital. This company provides additional trading algorithm software for brokers and traders using MT4.
